SIFNOS, CYCLADES - WRITING WITH LIGHTOctober, 2023 I’ve always been inspired by the Cyclades. Writing with light? Let’s go to the Greek roots of the word photography - φωτός (phōtós), genitive of φῶς (phōs), "light" and γραφή (graphé) writing - Photography - Φωτογραφία. How to explain the feeling I had of elation during my recent trip to Sifnos? Maybe Henri Cartier-Bresson, who’d photographed the island back in 1961 felt the same way? This is how he describes a photograph: “A photograph is neither taken or seized by force. It offers itself up. It is the photo that takes you. One must not take photos.”

Épuré, lumineux, sans trace humaine... Magistral. Brenda se ressource dans une beauté classique et habitée. Et nous avec.

Yes you’ve certainly captured the beauty of the Cyclades. One of my favourite places on earth.

I love the sky lines. I think my favourite image is the last one.
