Deep in Mexico’s Huastecan jungle, there’s a spectacular Surrealist Shangri-La where oversize concrete orchids flirt with lush tropical plants and stairways straight out of Escher beckon you on a journey upward into a folly-filled fantasy world ...
British Surrealist & Poet Edward James lovingly created Las Pozas in the mid 20th century. I took these photographs in 2002, 5 years before Las Pozas was acquired by the Fondo Xilitla. Parts of the 80-acre site have since been restored by the World Monuments Fund.
Gracias a Tom Brightman y Joel Stocker.
Soundtrack, “ Tell me Why”, original composition & trombone solo by Pierre Chabrèle
